Well there it is 2023, is that it ?
Yep another one slides by, but what a year !!
Tuesday golf was another great year with 33 rounds played by 18 magnificent Players, including this year a flying appearance by Biffa Amos ,4 appearances by Tony Bryan and Dan Large was in the frame twice. Special guest appearances by Tony and Jack Dearsley were recorded but the winner of this years “Road to Vilamoura” is the mighty Aldo Rodi having just qualified with 12 appearances (the minimum is 10).
Aldo spoke briefly from his Villa near Marbella :
“Well gentlemen it is a pleasure to be awarded this magnificent Trophy!
What do you mean there is no Trophy ? Well why doesn’t someone get one ? I’ve been playing on Tuesday for 10 years and you lot have been turning out for at least 20, and no bloody Trophy ?
Who on earth is in charge here !”
And with that a rather despondent Aldo was back in the pool.

And now for the very first time the Golf Ok “Golfer Of The Year 2023”.
There are two contenders this year, both nominated for, not only their superb golfing ability, but also their style, panache and all round contribution to the golfing world and ability to bribe judges and jury.
Firstly, that stalwart of the competitive golfing world, an ambassador for clean living, a role model for aspiring pirates Golfers around the world and in particular for his magnificent Tuesday Golf season which included a magnificent 41 points at Whitefields in June this year ! Our first nominee is the Mighty Max Mcdonough !
Our second nominee is a newcomer who has had a magnificent season winning the Crowhurst Trophy in the summer and taking the Bridlington Admiral’s Cup both at his first attempt, the inspirational Brian Shakespeare.
Tony Bryan, one of the distinguished judges this year summed up Brian’s season in his normal pithy fashion:
“No point Mate, we know he is not going to win, is he ?!”
After much deliberation the judges , it can be revealed, have announced the 2023 Golfer of the Year is:
Max Mcdonough !
Max is pictured here at the moment he received the call telling him he had won 2023 Golfer of the Year .
